Job Title: Part-Time Sales Representative

Hours: Part Time with growth to Full Time

Location: Saint Croix Falls (one hour from the Twin Cities)

Reports to: Owner

 

We are looking for a Part-Time Sales Representative to be part of our growth. Our 5 bbl system meets our capacity for our taproom from brewing on weekends. Our plans are to increase our production to distribute kegs and cans.  As growth continues this may grow into a Full-Time position. 

 

The position is responsible for developing and managing accounts while growing distribution volume and brand visibility. They will also assist in creating new procedures and SOPs for product launches and promotion events in the upper Northwestern territory. We’ll count on the Sales Representative to be the face of the company at external events and festivals, and provide support at Trap Rock Brewing Company taproom events.  At Trap Rock Brewing Company, we are a lean, flexible crew that works together to succeed. We need someone who can take initiative, work with minimal supervision, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

 

Saint Croix Falls is a small tourism town located approximately an hour from the Saint Paul & Minneapolis metro area.  There is an abundance of outdoor recreational activities in the area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, with the Owner, a sales strategy to promote the brand and increase sales
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors and key accounts
  • Responsible for the promotion and sales of draft and packaged beer and growing distribution and volume
  • Responsible for handling new account inquiries and processing of new and recurring orders
  • Assist Owner in executing business plans to meet annual goals and drive accountability with distributor and key accounts
  • Provide weekly reporting on sales activities to the Owner
  • Update sales database with orders from accounts and distributor
  • Prepare monthly sales and marketing reports on market research, competitors, and activity for monthly presentation to the Owner
  • Update and maintain calendar of market launches and festivals in assigned territory  Adhere to and maintain annual budget with direction from Owner
  • Stay abreast of current legislation and trends within the industry and communicate relevant information to Owner
  • Research and participate in continuous education related to the role such as customer service, sales techniques, and the craft beer industry
  • Assist in resolving customer and distributor issues and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining the integrity of Trap Rock Brewing Company
  • Represent Trap Rock Brewing Company by attending and/or pouring at special events such as beer dinners and beer festival

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be at leas 21 years of age
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a successful proven track record of developing strong relationships and meeting/exceeding sales goals
  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to complete assignments both accurately and efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and vendors
  • Must have the ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Ability to work independently and manage time very well
  • Ability to work efficiently as a part of a highly collaborative team
  • Proficiency with modern office software, including Microsoft Word and Excel

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sales experience in food and beverage industry preferably with Craft Beer
  • Familiarity or experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software a plus
  • Demonstrates approachability, composure, and strong customer service orientation
  • Solutions oriented, self-motivated, and results driven
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Available to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special work- related events such as beer dinners, tap takeovers, etc.
  • Ability to take initiative, work with minimal supervision, is flexible and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Team player with the ability to effectively interact and work cross-functionally with all departments to meet business goals and objectives

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 55 lbs overhead
  • Able to work on your feet for 8+ hours at a time or sit at a desk for long periods of time
  • Able to work effectively from home or remote office
